Our History

New Life Christian Fellowship is a nondenominational, nontraditional, multiethnic faith, based church where people can feel free to worship and served the Lord with No Limits! A core group sold out for Christ stepped out on faith and believed God for His word. New Life held its first Worship Service in March 2006 at the Wyndham Hotel Ballroom, Hershberger Road and in April Bishop Frank English, was officially initiated by the Apostle Samuel English, Sr. as the shepherd-pastor of New Life Christian Fellowship.

Several ministries were birthed while worshipping there such as Sunday school, a dynamic Dance Team, and an on-fire Men’s Chorus and more. Members and friends worked hard to build the ministry and the finances to one day have a home facility. In June 2007, New Life moved its worship Service to the Quality Inn Ballroom, Thirlane Road. One month later Bishop English and the church Advisory Board signed a lease agreement to move into our former home located on Brandon Avenue.

After several months of construction and completion of the building, New Life celebrated its Grand Opening Service on Sunday, November 4, 2007. Membership began to grow and the ministry managed a wonderful, instructional Adult and Intermediate Sunday school as well as Bible Study group, Children’s Church, Intercessory prayer team, Youth Choir/Praise Dance team and more. During the spring of 2011, NLCF partnered with the Noah-Christian Community, Inc. in starting a Private Christian School, Noah-Christian Academy. The school began its first year that summer and is continuously growing and enhancing the lives of youth by providing them a Solid Foundation.

Upon years of walking by faith and not by sight, in May 2016, New Life purchased our current home located right here, 402 S. Colorado Street Salem, VA. After tireless months of undergoing an intense renovation project both the church and the school began full services in September with the Grand Opening Service and ribbon cutting taking place on September 24, 2016. Since then, the NLCF family is still collaborating and working hard to see the full vision of the ministry come to existence. Everything is a work in progress and we thank God for continual growth. We desire to walk in more anointing and power; to bring God’s Kingdom to earth by teaching and preaching the word, seeing souls saved and delivered, meeting the needs of people in our surrounding communities and witnessing the manifestation of God’s miracles.

As a church family we are persistently growing stronger in the word as we work towards our mission of reaching the “Un-churched” and introducing them to Christ.
